SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate

Since the 15th of February 2018, The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Org. (SASO) has introduced a new scheme known as SASO Recognition Certificate for certain electrical products.
Its a certificate issued by SASO to prove that the product/s comply with safety standards according to international specifications; It guarantees that certified appliances are compliant with the standards of the IEC Conformity Assessment Schemes for Electrotechnical Equipment and Components (IECEE), while also taking into consideration the Saudi National Differences. This came as a move to improve the quality and safety of products in the Kingdom.

The SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate will be valid for one year and requires annual renewal. The holders of the IECEE Saudi recognition certificate must apply for renewal at least 60 days prior to the certificate expiry date, or the application will be considered as new, and they will have to pay the submission and issuance fees all over again.

How SaberSaudi will help you to issue the IECEE Recognition Certificate?

SABERSAUDI’s team will obtain SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate by applying through SASO’s JEEM1 platform, and the following documents are required:
  • The Saudi company commercial registry
  • Certification Body Test Certificate copy (CBTC)
  • Certification Body Test Report copy (CBTR)
  • National Difference Test Report (if any)
  • Manufacturer self-declaration
  • Importer / supplier self-declaration
  • Product dimensions and photos (if not attached to the test report)
  • Descriptive documents (such as: the product manual must be in Arabic and English)
  • CITC certificate if the product works with a data or communication chip (SIM card)

If there is a charger available with the product, the below is also required:

  • IECEE CB Test Report for the Charger
  • IECEE Certificate for the Charger
  • Product photos
  • Product label photos

Once all documents have been submitted and the application will be reviewed then approved, a SASO IECEE recognition certificate is then issued and the product is listed on the JEEM1 database.

FAQs:

The documents review and certification issuance takes from 5 to 21 working days. Based on the submitted documents, if sufficient and valid, the certification body will issue the certificate within one week.

After the issuance of the Saudi IECEE Recognition certificate, it must be linked to your Saber account, in order to be able to issue the Saber Shipment Certificate of Conformity (SCOC).

The cost is divided as the following:

Submission of the application: 500 SAR

Application study: 2500 SAR

Issuance of the certificate: 500 SAR

Certification Body Fees: 500 SAR
